This, dear readers, is a photo of a soon-to-be installed Smart Board. And no, it is NOT in my classroom!
As our principal is interested in moving people forward in their learning about the effective use of instructional technology, she realises the importance of having the necessary tools and resources in the classroom. Consequently, the smartboards which were in the computer and the library collecting dust are now in an upstairs classroom and a Grade 1 classroom downstairs respectively, and today, some friendly folks from the Board appeared to install wall-mounted Boards in two additional upstairs classrooms.
For teachers who may have only rarely used an IWB, suddenly having one's main teaching board covered by this new interactive screen can seem daunting, but one thing is clear: Having it in the classroom full time in such a prominant position will most certainly ensure its use.
The air of nervous excitement amongst affected staff, about the arrival of the several boards, is surpassed only by the obsessive desire of us all to see a photo of our Spec Ed teacher's new twin girls, who were born early this morning!!!
