This is the cream of the crop (how did I get here?!), and you can tell as soon as you sit down at a table and begin a conversation with someone, that they know what they are doing, and are confident educators as well as life-long learners. Every child should be so lucky to have just a few of these people as their teachers along the way!

“We know what effective professional learning looks like. It is directly relevant to the needs of teachers and students, and it provides opportunities for application, practice, reflection, and reinforcement.” |
Tonight’s session certainly provided relevance and opportunities for reflection, and the agenda for the remaining two days promises to fulfill the rest of Reeve’s stipulations! It was exciting to connect with educators from other school boards, and hear how they are using technology effectively to support student learning in their classroooms. It was inspiring to see the diversity of experience in the room, both in terms of provincial geographic origin, and length of time in the classroom. It was exhilarating to be amongst a group of educators that are both competent teachers excited learners; many engaging conversations were started at our table this evening, and I look forward to numerous more in the days to come.
I still haven’t read and commented on that LNS monograph I had planned to this evening, but -- Ah! My mind is a-buzz with professional inspiration!
